This little handbeaded website belongs to Hala, a dancer, studio owner, instructor, and costumer in Edmonton, Alberta. She first performed publicly in the spring of 2000, and has never looked back. Her husband and grown children have been orphaned by her call to dance. |

It would be easy to say that Middle Eastern Dance has become a bit of an obsession. Middle Eastern music booms through the house at volumes that would scare teenagers, and the shelves in her sewing room are piled high with countless bolts of fabric. |

Through countless hours of research over the last ten years, Hala has built up a wealth of material on Middle Eastern Dance, from the history of the dance and cultures of the Middle East, to the costumes and fabrics, and her greatest passion, the music, of which she has ammased, several hundred discs. |
